With a LinkedIn premium account, you’ve always been able to see exactly who has viewed your profile. And marketers have used this feature for years to help B2B businesses expand their networks.

But the LinkedIn interesting view feature takes this to another level.

Now, you get a curated list of the best people that have visited your profile – the perfect list to use for outreach.

The question now is, how do you use interesting views on LinkedIn to boost your lead gen, and what tools do you need to do it?

In this post, we’ll go through the entire process so you can implement this easy hack into your social media marketing strategy.

Interesting Views on LinkedIn: What it is

With a free LinkedIn account, you’ll only get to see the previous five profile views. However, if you have a premium account (which you should for business), you can see all your profile views from the last 90 days.

This is a goldmine of information since you’ll be able to see which people are interested in you and your services.

However, 90 days’ worth of views is hundreds of people and profiles to go through, and not all of them will be high-quality accounts that you want to scrape for your outreach

This is why LinkedIn introduced Interesting Views.

These are people the LinkedIn algorithm thinks you’ll be the most interested in connecting with, out of the people who viewed your LinkedIn profile.

Where to Find Interesting Views

It’s easy to find the interesting views of your profile – just head to the “Who’s Viewed My Profile” section on your LinkedIn news feed and you’ll see the “interesting views” tab next to “all profile views”.

LinkedIn sends a notification when someone views your profile, usually by email or page notification depending on your settings. You won’t get a notification that you’ve got an “interesting view” though, you’ll need to go to your dashboard for those.

What Makes LinkedIn Profile Views Interesting?

LinkedIn’s algorithm determines which people get put into your “interesting views” category, and although there is no definitive way to tell what makes profiles interesting, there are some key factors:

  • Common ground: any person that is associated with someone you follow or a common page.
  • Seniority level: any person with a senior-level position such as a CEO, President, or Manager or a company.
  • Industry: any person within the same industry as the one you have listed on your LinkedIn profile.
  • University attendance: any person who attended the same university as you.
  • Mutual connections: if you have mutual 1st level connections with a user, they might end up in your interesting view list also.

What to do with Interesting Views

Using your interesting views can help boost your lead generation efforts. Knowing who has viewed your LinkedIn profile gives you an indication of interest in your brand and services.

Interesting views takes this a step further and narrows down those users to the most relevant profile views. Whether that’s senior-level employees or users you have common ground with, outreach will be much easier with this information.

If you’re already connected

You’ll have a higher chance of getting a reply from someone you’re already connected with because they should already be familiar with your brand.

If you already know why they searched your LinkedIn profile, you can use this in your outreach. Perhaps you’ve already had a conversation with them and they’re researching your brand.

If you don’t know why they viewed your LinkedIn profile, you can still personalize your outreach by mentioning this and asking them how you can be of service. This outreach might be the nudge they need to inquire about your services.

If you’re not already connected

Do a quick search of the person’s LinkedIn profile and decide if they’re a good fit for your network. Remember, you want to build a network that benefits your business. They should either be an ideal customer or a potential collaborator or industry connection to be included in your network.

People are much more likely to accept a personalized connection request if they’ve already viewed your LinkedIn profile.

You can then send an outreach message to let them know you saw they viewed your LinkedIn profile and you’re here to help with whatever your specialty is.

Automate your outreach

Users on your LinkedIn interesting view list are perfect for boosting your lead generation. But sending individual messages manually is going to take a lot of time and effort.

Instead, think about automating your outreach efforts with a personalized campaign. With Zopto, you can create a list of contacts from your interesting view list and then set up an automated outreach campaign

With Zopto, you can easily set up personalized outreach to help improve your conversion rate and keep track of opens and replies right in your dashboard.

This is the best way to utilize your interesting view feature and use it to your business’s advantage.
